1956 Ford F100 Big Window Restoration

I know that we say each vehicle comes with a story or with a series of special events that have bonded themselves to memory that make these cars and trucks so unique. This particular 56' BW F100 has been owned since our customer was 18 years old. He and his wife have shared many permanent memories that yeilds this trucks importance. This truck has had a couple looks over the years, but we have been asked to get our clients to the finish line.

The F100 came to us with a freshly painted body on a frame that has a SBF married to AOD Transmission. We were provided with all the gaskets and seals for the entire truck as well as all the hardware for the bed. This was partnered with some boxes of parts bought for the rebuild over the years while our client has been restoring. Lastly, some vintage parts that needed to be restored for final installation.

After getting into the truck and organizing what we have, exploring what we have that will work and align with customer goals, and finding things we are going to need to achieve these goals, then things are starting to really take shape.

The F100 will feature TMI bucket seats custom made for the truck along with matching door cards. A custom center console will begin to take shape once seats have been assigned to their forever spot in the cab. We will have heat and airconditioning thanks to Vintage Air. Notably, The interior will have nice accents such as the Flamming River chrome column, Vintage Air Custom vents and controller, and chrome accents on original handles , trims and window cranks.

The instrument cluster is the VHX series by Dakota Digital.

Naturally the client wanted a more custom look for air vents, so our remedy was the underdash ac vent bar by Fat Fenders Garage. Modifications were necessary for allowing for additions to fit provided the room in the small cab along with surrounding components. Still to be featured would include the Guard Dawg Alarm system with push to start, ooga Horn, and electric ram actuator to move the cowl vent up and down.

The American Autowire Harness was re-organized before mocking things up into the truck and delegating harness paths. Our goal is to keep the interior simple and everything tucked away that does not require regualr access. Thank to Rod Doors custom interiors we were able to find panels to get the look what we want so far.
